Getting Out Of The Gate

According to Walmart, the world’s largest retailer has tripled its e-commerce selection to 23 million products this year, aiming to better compete with Amazon.com Inc.  While this may seem to be a massive number of items (it is…), it is still dwarfed by Amazon’s product selection of over 350 million products in the US (this includes products from the sellers on Marketplace).  To put this volume challenge into context, during one 16-month period spanning back to 2015, Amazon added nearly 500,000 new products to their assortment every single day.  Read More...
